Healthy eating and exercise are very important for everyone, not just if you're trying to lose weight. Here are some tips:

-Eat FRESH fruits and vegetables (not canned)
-Eat bread with whole grains
-Eat smaller meals, more frequently
-Limit your salt intake
-Don't buy snacks with trans fat or saturated fat
-Drink fat free milk. If you don't like the taste, try Over the Moon milk. They sell it in most grocery stores. It tastes like 2%, but its really fat free.
-Try not to drink a lot of soda. If you have to have it, drink light-colored sodas like ginger ale or sprite (rather than Coke or Dr. Pepper)
-Try Veggie cheese! It doesn't taste too bad when you have it with something else.
-Choose grilled over fried foods
-Have fruit for dessert, instead of baked goods
-Instead of ice cream, try Sorbet. It's really delicious and fat free!
-Try to eat at home, rather than eat out.
-Go for a 10-15 minute run in the morning. It is shorter than you think! It will improve your cardiovascular system and keep you heart healthy.
-If you save up some money, you could buy Wii FIt. It is a great tool to keep you in shape. http://www.nintendo.com/wiifit/launch/?ref=http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=wii+fit&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10
-My favorite healthy meal is actually really easy to make. Its white rice with black beans. (Make sure you strain the black beans before you cook them.) I add toppings like fresh peppers, mangos, chives, cilantro, and fat free sour cream.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask me.
I hope that helps : )

do you have an itouch?
if so, dowload the app. called "SparkPeople" , it's free.
and it personalizes meal plans/options, and even chooses workout types for each day (aerobic, cardio, ect.) and gives you choices to choose from.
it allows you to set a goal weight, and tells you around how long it will take you to reach your goal.
its awesome!!!
& it works;)
i use it, haaah...
if you dont have an itouch, then visit
www.SparkPeople.com ; you can do the same thing(:
i just prefer ipod, because its easier to keep a log, instead of having to log onto a computer to check in,
its really an amzing plan , especially since its free :D

foods won't make you fat depending on their levels of fat. carbs and calories and all that are really what does it. just don't eat processed stuff and less bread.

Exercise daily...eat lots of fruits and veggie and drink plenty of water. At 12 you shouldn't be worrying about your weight.

Just be careful, if you let your sugar go too low you could be in trouble. when a person's sugar goes too low, then one of the systems is headache, along with weakness, perspiration, and blurred vision.
if your body is in the habit of having a lot of calories, then it is possible for you to have a headachee, but it's possible that your headach is not just from the calorie cutting, but from the dramatic withdrawal of sugar. :-)

When you start to restrict things like caffeine, sugar, or carbs (like bread) to lower your calorie intake then it is normal to get a headache. Even eating less than you would normally do would give you a headache but it should go away in about a week once your body adjusts to your diet.
